Gladstone’s Lillie Johnson unanimously named Miss U.P. Basketball

MARQUETTE — I mean, are we really surprised?
Gladstone junior Lillie Johnson added to her already decorated resume. She was unanimously voted as a Dream Team selection, Division 1-3 Player of the Year and Miss U.P. Basketball by the Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association during their 50th annual All-U.P. girls’ basketball meeting on march 31 on the campus of Northern Michigan University in Marquette.
Johnson averaged 22.6 points and 12.3 rebounds per game. She holds program records in career points (1,591) and rebounds (968) while also earning Player of the Year honors in both the Great Northern Conference and Mid-Peninsula Conference.
The Braves were also voted Team of the Year for Divisions 1-3 while head coach Andy Cretens was named Coach of the Year for Division 1-3.
