MAUSTON, Wis. –The taste of Tuesday’s 16-6 loss to Green Bay Notre Dame didn’t sit in the mouth of Escanaba baseball for very long.

The Eskymos walked away with three wins in Wisconsin this weekend. Here’s what went down.

Escanaba 6, Lake Mills 3

The Eskymos (3-1) pounced early thanks to a two-out, two-run triple from sophomore Brody Ison in the first. Alex Ison and Max LeDuc each scored on L-Cats’ throwing errors in the second for a quick 4-0 lead.

Lake Mills cut the deficit to 4-2 after six innings, but it wasn’t enough to match the orange and black. Junior Ashton Rymkos added a RBI single and was immediately met with a RBI double from sophomore Mikaiden Hughes for a 6-2 lead.

Freshman Bryce Bichler finished 2-for-4 with a run scored. Junior Cannon Arnt allowed one earned run off four hits with a walk and seven strikeouts across four innings of work. Junior Brian Boutilier allowed two runs (one earned) off four hits with three walks and three strikeouts in three innings of relief.

Escanaba 8, Kewaunee 3

The Eskymos trailed 3-1 midway through five innings. The deficit didn’t survive past the fifth inning either.

Boutilier scored Arnt off a sacrifice fly to pull within one run. Buchler and Rymkos drew back-to-back walks before Hughes cranked a two-run double for a 4-3 lead.

It didn’t stop there.
