Baseball roundup: Jets, Emeralds earn victories

STEPHENSON — Seven first inning runs propelled North Central baseball to an 11-2 victory over Manistique here Tuesday.

Brooks Castle hit a sacrifice fly, scoring a run. With the bases loaded Austin Faley drew a walk to bring in a run, Beau Maule and Nathan Pipkorn each had an RBI single and Kaden Malone added a two-run double to give the Jets a 6-2 lead.

Aidyn Burton was also walked with the bases loaded to extend the lead to 7-2.

Natan Pipkorn got the start for the Jets and allowed on two runs on two hits with four strikeouts and three walks in the contest.

The first game was between Manistique and Stephenson with Manistique taking the contest 18-2.

Cooper Curtis went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Owen Kusnier went 3-for-5 at the plate with three RBIs.

Jeffery Lampin pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on three hits with nine strikeouts and four walks.

Chase Monette started for the Eagles and allowed six runs on six hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
