Leutz wins big in ice racing action
GLADSTONE — Leah Leutz had a good day on the ice in Gladstone on Sunday as she picked up a trio of wins in ice racing action.
Her first win came in the 0-400 Jr. Rubber class, where she held off Escanaba’s Bentley Richer who came in second. Danny Pfotenhauer came in third. While Maci Lantagne and Jacob Kujala rounded out the top five.
Leutz found her way back to the winners column in the Women’s Rubber race as she defeated Andrea Couillard who finished in second and Danielle Davenport rounded out the three driver field.
Leutz also picked up a win in the Women’s Studded race as she held off Angela Tuyls who finished second. Kelsey Polequin and Melinda Frey rounded out the field.
In other action on Sunday, Nolan Stewart picked up a feature win in the 50cc Bike race. Daniel Steward came in second and Maverick Hunt came in third.
In the 100 Rubber Mini Quad race, Abbie Lantagne picked up the feature win. Matthew Hongisto came in second and Grayson Cummings finished third. Liam Jasso and Abby Wyllys rounded out the top five.
In the 0-300 Rubber class, Joey Stankowicz picked up the feature win. Tyler Johnson came in second and Joe Williams came in third. Hunter Couillard and Alan Couillard rounded out the top five.
In the 0-400 Rubber class, Hunter Couillard picked up the feature win. Jacob Kujala came home second and Ethan Manninen finished third. Stankowicz and Joe Williams rounded out the top five.
In the 0-450 Studded race, Dan Kujala picked up the feature win. Parker Cain finished second and Brandon Krause finished third. Mike Palm and Javi Jasso rounded out the top five.
In the 0-450 Bike class, Justin Gieszer picked up the feature win, while Ethan Maksim finished second. Kaden Hayes took home a third place finish and Eddie Forslund and Derek Berglund rounded out the top five.
In the 250 Bike class, Maksim picked up the feature while Jacob Micheau came in second and Jesse Liss rounded out the field.
In the Sportsman Studded class, Levi Leutz picked up the win over Jacob Kujala as the only two racers in the class.
The Veteran Bike class also had only two racers as Justin Gieszer won the race over Derek Berglund.
In the 80-200 Bike class, Maskim picked up his second feature win of the day over Bryce Dykes who finished second. Jesse Liss came in third and Ryan Harris and Riley Bennett rounded out the top five.
In the A-Rubber class, Hunter Couillard picked up the feature win. Sam Rasmussen came in second and Eric Malmsten came in third. Tyler Johnson and Matt Chenier rounded out the top five.
In the B-Rubber class, Chase Richer picked up the feature win. Cody Vandermissen came in second and Jacob Micheau came in third. Benjamin Heiting and Ethan Manninen rounded out the top five.
In the C-Sportsman Rubber class, Chase Richer came away with another feature win as he held off Caden Mattonen who finished second and Benjamin Heiting finished third, while Cole Shepard and Jacob Kujala rounded out the top five.
In the Open Bike class, Justin Gieszer picked up the feature win. Maskim raced his way to a second place finish and Kaden Hayes and Logan Couillard rounded out the four driver field.
In the Outlaw Rubber class, Rasmussen took home the checkered flag and Matt Chenier came in second. Tyler Johnson came in third and Zack Kevern and Levi Leutz rounded out the top five.
In the Outlaw Studded class, Jordan Mcknight won the feature race over Dan Kujala who finished second. Parker Cain finished third and Brandon Krauss and Tom Johns rounded out the top five.
In the Sportsman Bike race Jacob Micheau picked up the feature win Kaden Hayes took home a second place finish and Logan Couillard finished third. Grace Livingston and Ryan Haris rounded out the top five.
