ESCANABA — It was not just another day for Escanaba senior Cody Noel. It was the beginning of a new chapter as Cody signed his letter of intent to St. Norbert College where he will major in sports management and play football for the Green Knights.
“It feels great to get to play at the next level,” Noel said. “I like the campus and the coaches and staff there are awesome,”
Cody’s love for sports led him to pursue the sports management field.
“I have always been passionate about sports, “ Noel said. “I played through high school and it’s like a family with all your teammates and coaches.”
Noel earned All-Conference Honorable mention on the offensive line in the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Escanaba coach Bailey Lamb believes Noel will thrive at the next level.
“It has been great to see him grow as a player over the last four years,” Lamb said “He is a grinder, he will find his role on the team and embrace it. Whatever he decides to do he will be successful.”
Noel is a great teammate in addition to being a good athlete.
“That is one thing that made Cody stand out,” Lamb said. “He got hurt during football season and he is still on the bench for basketball cheering on his teammates and coaching them up. He did the same thing in football and that is the sign of a leader.”
Noel will begin classes at St. Norbert this upcoming fall.
