Esky hockey splits final regular season games
SAULT STE. MARIE –To close out its 2024-25 regular season, Escanaba hockey tripped out east for two games this past weekend.
The Eskymos partook in the Sault Ste. Marie showcase and took a win and a loss in the process.
Esky (15-10) opened on Friday with a 4-1 win over the Bay Area Reps.
Junior Ben Sand broke a 1-1 tie midway through the first period with assists from Nolan Bink and Cale Carter. Graham Johnson and Owen Labonte added a goal apiece as the Eskymos captured a 4-1 win.
The Eskymos closed action on Saturday with a 7-0 to Orchard Lake St. Mary’s the No. 1 team in Division 3 entering the weekend.
Esky hosts Kingsford at 4 p.m. Saturday for a regional semifinal matchup.
