Gladstone bowling bests Marquette, splits with Esky

ESCANABA — It was a good weekend on the lanes for Gladstone Bowling teams as they faced Escanaba and Marquette here Saturday at Bowl-A-Rama.

The boys defeated Escanaba 34.5 to 5.5. Matt Meyer led with a 404 series and Preston Veerser added a 170 game.

The girls lost 28-12 to Esky. Lily Ketchum led the Braves with a 274 series.

The X-Team won 34-6 against Marquette B team. Nic Bellows led the way with a 257 series.

The boys team also defeated Marquette 27-13 to improve to 6-2. Matt Meyer led the Braves with a 444 series and Bryce Carlson added a personal best 234 game and 399 series.

The girls also defeated Marquette 33-7. MaKenzie Nelson was the top scorer for the Braves with a 279 series. The girls are now 5-3 on the season.

The X-Team lost 38-2 to a talented Marquette team. Bellows had a personal best 153 game and Kyle Cass had a 223 series Gladstone X-Team is now 6-2 on the season.
