Esky hockey drops road bout to Jeffers
JEFFERS –Round two between two of Division 3’s top-10 squads did not go in favor of Escanaba hockey.
The Eskymos fell to Jeffers 3-2 on Friday night.
Junior Ben Sands scored 5:19 into the contest for an early 1-0 lead which stood for the entirety of the first frame and a majority of the second stanza. Jeffers then rattled off three-straight goals, including a pair in the third, for a 3-1 lead.
Junior Nolan Bink found junior Owen LaBonte, who buried the biscuit in the back of the net 9:48 into the third, but that’s all the Eskymos were able to muster.
Junior netminder Cully Hayes turned away 25 of 28 shots.
