Esky hockey swept in Copper Country road trip
ESCANABA — Road trips can be as rewarding as they are challenging.
Escanaba hockey’s weekend road games against Calumet and Hancock proved to be the latter.
The Esky dropped the first of a back-to-back road series in a 5-4 loss to Calumet on Friday night. Graham Johnson earned two goals and an assist. Nolan Bink added a goal and a helper. Nick Martinson added a goal and Cale Carter tallied a trio of assists. Cully Hayes totaled 41 saves in the loss.
The Eskymos then dropped Saturday’s showdown with Hancock 4-2. Bink and Johnson each scored a goal. Martinson, Ben Sands and Keagan Braun each added an assist.
The Eskymos stay on the road to face Negaunee at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
