Voter guide
DEAR VOTER:
The League of Women Voters has a proud history in Delta County. We have been providing voter services since 1951. In that time, we have done our best to educate voters. Our citizens, especially, appreciate our candidate forums and printed voter guides.
In today’s Daily Press, our friends and neighbors will find the 2024 Voter Guide. The League takes pride in producing a publication that is of benefit to our voters. We apologize for the many candidates that did not respond to our invitation to participate. Those that did not respond to our questions, aside from a couple of contested races, are not included in this guide. Whatever their reasons, we recognize that it does not help voters to make educated decisions, without knowing the positions of candidates on a variety of issues.
Printed voter guides are a service we want to continue for our citizens, but, with limited participation, we may have to rethink the time and expense of providing them in the future. If you would like to see the guides continue, we ask you to encourage the candidates running to represent you, to participate. Without their participation, we have limited information to offer to the voters.
Our sincere thanks to the candidates that took the time to respond to our questions, and our hope is that in the future, more candidates will see the importance of sharing their positions. Please vote on November 5. Your vote matters.
Sincerely,
The League of Women
Voters of Delta County
