Christmas concert was a holiday treat

This week’s bouquets go to:

Recently, the Bay de Noc Choral Society put on its annual Christmas concert at Bethany Lutheran before a packed house. A standing ovation was earned as the result of a dynamite performance directed by Ann Wood and accompanied by John Ignatowski on organ and piano. The chorus sang a collection of Christmas songs along with an animated rendition of “The Night Before Christmas” featuring a whistler and many spot solos. The chorus was accompanied throughout by strings, drum, clarinet, brass, guitar, cello and hand bells for select numbers. The women of Bethany sponsored a reception for all following the concert. The finale was a special “Joy to the World” that brought the house down when the brass, bells, chorus and John on the organ let out all the stops to a rising crescendo that rattled the stain glass windows. Many thanks to all performers and a gracious audience. The Choral Society will begin rehearsals for our annual spring concert on Tuesday, January 17 and newcomers are welcomed for all four voice parts. There are no auditions and interested newcomers are encouraged to call 241-7731 in advance.
