Gary Dean Hansen
POWERS — Gary Dean Hansen, 85, Powers, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers with his loving family by his side. He was born on August 12, 1939 in Gillett, Wis., son of the late Elmer and Alice (Jewell) Hansen. On September 30, 1961 he married the former Judith “Judy” Kurth in Kennan, Wis.
Gary was a lifetime member of the Normenco Sportsman’s Club, where he was the Treasurer for 40 years and member for over 50 years. He joined the Army in June of 1957 where he served three years with an Honorable Discharge. While in the Army he was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. Gary served on the Board of Pleasant Acres Powers Non-Profit Housing and was a member of the Spalding Township Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
Gary is survived by his wife; two sons, Dennis (Lisa) Hansen and David (Michele) Hansen; a brother, Allen(Joan) Hansen; six grandchildren, David, Megan, Victoria, Mary, Daniel and Tyler; four great-grandchildren, Richard, Aliana, Ruby and Harper; a brother-in-law, James Holl; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Douglas Hansen; a sister, Beverly Holl; and a daughter-in-law, Betty Hansen.
In keeping with Gary’s wishes, there will be no public services at this time. His family will celebrate his life at a later date. Burial will take place in the Spalding Township Cemetery.
