MARQUETTE — Carol Eugenia Larson-King, 86, of Marquette, entered eternal life on Friday, April 11, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the loving care of her family.

Born in Big Bay, Michigan on August 14, 1938, Carol was the daughter of the late Morgan H. and Myrtle M. (Hawke) Quinn. She was raised in Marquette and graduated from Bishop Baraga High School, class of 1956. After graduation, she began her professional career with Northwestern Mutual and later served as a clerk and administrative assistant in the Juvenile Division at the Marquette County Courthouse.

Carol’s greatest joy came from homemaking and raising her four children, with her first husband, Paul F. Larson, whom she married on May 21, 1960. She later married Gerald “Jerry” King on May 1, 1993 sharing 31 years of marriage. Carol was deeply devoted to her family, cherishing every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family.

Carol was exceptionally talented in knitting, crocheting, and sewing, frequently creating beautiful afghans, pillows, and other creative items for her family. She was a longtime member of St. Peters Cathedral and former member of Messiah Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald King of Marquette; children, Stephen (Emily Yu) Larson of Las Vegas, Nev., Thomas (Patti) Larson of Englewood, Fla., Karen Larson of Marquette, and Connie (Eric Froberg) Fries of Marquette; stepchildren, John King of Cedar, Minn., and Jeff (Joyce) King of Gladstone; grandchildren, Christopher (Yilin Tian) Larson, Trisha (Jason) Robertson, Luke (Jessica) Larson, Cameron (Faith Liberty) Fries, Courtney Fries, Connor Fries, Caleb Fries, Augie (Hannah Peterson) Gentz, Gabrielle Gentz, Lars Gentz, Jordyn King, and Jeffrey (Jill) King; great-grandchildren, Cailey, Kaitlyn, Damian, Jordan, Carson, and Jude; sisters, Helen Kurcz and Frances (Robert) Dupras, both of Marquette; brother-in-law, Walter Aument, Chicago, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul F. Larson; her siblings, Morgan Quinn, Dorothy (Pete) Lemire, Patricia Aument, Marion (Ed) Boyle, Marjorie (Tom) Enwright, Barbara (Joseph) Levandoski and Katherine Quinn; brother-in-law, Barry Kurcz; nieces, Helen Louise Quinn, Constance Enwright, Virginia Quinn Duchow, and Patricia Quinn Gruenke; nephews, Edward Boyle Jr. and Timothy Boyle and her step-son, James King.

Visitation will be held at Canale Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Tuesday, April 15, from 5 until 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Cathedral on Wednesday, April 16, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Brandon Oman officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at Park Cemetery at noon. Carol’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
