Carol Anne (Paul) Darmogray

GLADSTONE — Carol Anne (Paul) Darmogray, 78, of Gladstone passed away at home on Monday, March 31, 2025, She was born on October 29, 1946 in Michigan, was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She was the daughter of Henry and Dorothea Paul and grew up in Plymouth, Michigan where she met Bob. On August 18, 1967 she married Robert (Bob) Darmogray in Wayne, Michigan. In 1970, they moved the family to Gladstone and opened Gray Jewelers in the Delta Plaza mall. Carol also received her nursing license in 1979. She was passionate about her pets, gardening, and her family.
A lover of nature, Carol spent countless hours tending to her garden, feeding the deer and the birds, where she found peace and joy in nurturing the living things she cherished. Her love for animals was unwavering, and she shared her home with several pets over the years, each one bringing her happiness and companionship. Her beloved dogs, Beau and Max; her crazy kitties, Ellie, Maggie and Luna, who were her constant companions.
Throughout her life, Carol had an adventurous spirit. She loved to travel, exploring new places and creating memories with family and friends along the way. Her sense of wanderlust was matched only by her deep love for her family, and she was always at her happiest when surrounded by the people she loved.
Carol is survived by her three daughters, Jennifer (Bryan) Lombard and their children Doug and Alex, Julie (Steve) Theoret and their children Andrew, Adam, Anna and Ryan, Jackie (Tony) Fornetti and their children Chloe, Lucy and Chase; one son, Joe (Jeanette) Darmogray and their children Kyle and Tyler; her brother Robert (Sarah) Paul, and a sister, Tamara Paul, son in law, Karl Scheeneman; great grandchildren Blakely, Leighton and Brooks; nieces; Kate, Teri, and Courtney, and nephews; Matthew, and Ian.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Robert of 53 years; her parents; her nieces Caitlin and Kristi.
Keeping with Carol’s wishes, there will not be a funeral and instead we will have a Celebration of Life at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Delta County Animal Shelter in her honor.
Carol will be forever remembered for her kindness, her dedication to her family, and the love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Carol’s love for her family was endless, and though she is gone, the bond we shared will never fade. We will carry her in our hearts forever.
