James ‘Jim’ E. King

MARQUETTE — James ‘Jim’ E. King, 61, of Marquette, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Jim was born on January 22, 1964, in Marquette, to Gerald and Delores (Linna) King.
Jim was a lifelong resident of Marquette, graduating from Marquette Senior High School with the Class of 1983. Following graduation, Jim started working with various local businesses and most recently worked at Super One Foods. Jim enjoyed being with the older generation, which he demonstrated through playing and calling Bingo alongside his grandparents and mother. Jim enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including memorable card games with his niece and nephew, Jordyn and Jeffrey. He loved family functions and always kept everyone laughing with his good-natured teasing.
Known for his gentle nature and generous spirit, Jim would willingly give anything he had to help others.
Jim is survived by his father and stepmother, Jerry and Carol (Larson) King of Marquette; brothers, John King of Cedar, MN and Jeff (Joyce) King of Gladstone, MI; niece, Jordyn King of DePere, WI; nephew, Jeffrey (Jill) King of DeWitt, MI; great-nephew, Jude King of Dewitt, MI; stepbrothers, Steve (Emily) Larson of Las Vegas, NV, and Tom (Patti) Larson of Englewood, FL; stepsisters, Karen Larson and Connie Fries, both of Marquette. He was preceded in death by his mother, Delores.
Honoring Jim’s wishes, interment will be at the Negaunee Cemetery with his mother. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
