Frederick ‘Freddy’ Nelson Albrecht

VAN DYNE, Wis. — Frederick “Freddy” Nelson Albrecht made his final departure from his beloved “Farm” in Van Dyne, Wisconsin on February 11, 2025. He was born June 22, 1953, in Menominee, Michigan, to Charles and Virginia (LeClair) Albrecht.

While growing up in Gladstone, he attended All Saints Catholic School and was a member of the last graduating class of the old Holy Name High School in 1971.

During the summer of 1971, while passing through Wisconsin, Fred made a random stop in Fond du Lac where he landed a life long remodeling project. A talented and creative woodworker and carpenter, he established Albrecht’s Siding and Trim in 1979. In the years following, he sided and remodeled countless homes, businesses and churches creating masterpieces as a result.

A kind, generous, and hard working man, he would go the extra mile to help others in need. Hospitable and gregarious, Fred would drop everything to offer and partake of a cold beer with friends who stopped by. His annual birthday celebration were legendary and well attended. His hobbies and pass times included gardening, canning, reading National Geographic, and listening to NPR and books on tape. He also enjoyed going to camp in the UP for syrup making in the spring and deer hunting in the fall.

A loving father and grandfather, Fred will dearly be missed by daughters, Alasha Riendeau (Ryan Vassar) and Brook Albrecht; grand-daughters, Jasmine Hanson, Emily Riendeau, Alayna and Scarlytt Thomma; great grandson, E.J. Martines. He is further survived by sister, Elizabeth (Robert) Meerstein and brothers, Michael (Marilyn) and Peter (Sandy) Albrecht as well as many nieces and nephews and life long best friend, Pete Meyers.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
