Dorothy Lucille McGinnis

ESCANABA — Dorothy Lucille McGinnis, age 89, of Escanaba, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Bishop Noah Home in Escanaba. She was born July 13, 1935 in Escanaba, Mich. and born to Uclyde McGinnis and Olga Christianson. Lucille attended Escanaba High School.
Lucille dedicated her life to the Salvation Army. She and her mother Olga could be found collecting money for the poor from Escanaba to Rapid River. She can be proud of the people she helped in our community with her dedicated passion for the Salvation Army and its mission for the poor. Many people purchased the infamous Salvation Army pasties from Lucille.
Lucille is survived by her sister, Olga Marie Bowden of Marshall, Michigan and is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents and brothers; Uclyde McGinnis, Harold McGinnis, Clifford Anderson, Robert Anderson and Floyed Anderson and sister Eleanore Sharkey.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. EST to noon Tuesday, March 25 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Dorothy Lucille McGinnis will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Captain Winters officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral service in the Ludington Room located in the Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery.
