Dorothy ‘Dottie’ L. Schram

GLADSTONE — Dorothy “Dottie” L. Schram, age 87, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Christian Park Village in Escanaba.

Dottie was born on February 6, 1938 in Escanaba, the daughter of Henry and Florence (LaViolette) Gingrass. She graduated from Gladstone High School in the class of 1956. She was united in marriage to Bob Schram in 1959. Dottie was employed at the Log Cabin while her children were growing up, and she later was employed and retired from James T. Jones Elementary School as a Title 1 aid.

Dottie loved to have company over to reminisce with her. She also was very generous and truly enjoyed helping others. She was a talented cook and baker, and loved to play cards, especially Kings in the Corner. The pride of her life was her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them. In her younger years, Dottie enjoyed taking Amtrak and bus trips with her husband all over. They also enjoyed camping across the bay at the Belgian Congo.

Dottie is survived by her two children Joseph (Nathalie) Schram and Catherine (Jerome) Lueneburg; grandchildren Hannah (Dom) Young, Robbie Lueneburg and Luke Lueneburg; sister Noreen and many nieces and nephews.

Dottie was preceded in death by her husband Bob Schram; parents Henry and Florence; daughter and son-in-law Connie Lynn and Jeff; and sisters Mary Ann (Ron) Bruce and Jackie (Dick) Potter.
