Daniel ‘Bud’ G. Norden

PERKINS — Daniel ‘Bud’ G. Norden, 98, of Perkins, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Transitions Assisted Living in Gladstone.
Bud was born on April 20, 1926 in Rapid River, the son of Raymond and Ruby (Young) Norden. After graduating high school, Bud moved to Detroit and worked in the auto industry. He served in the U.S. Army as an MP, receiving the World War II Victory Medal. After his military service, Bud returned to Perkins where he and his life long friend, Tom Gibbs, opened the Red Owl Store. After closing the Red Owl Store, he worked in the timber industry as a wood broker until his retirement. Bud enjoyed life thoroughly including hunting and fishing. He was an avid Tiger’s Baseball and Lions football fan! He most enjoyed spending time with family and friends at hunting camp and over coffee at his kitchen table in Perkins. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Bud is survived by his nieces and nephews Jim (Rose) Peltier, William (Trudy) Peltier, Shirley Ann (Gary) Tobian, Reatha Wallman, Gail (Bill) Myers, Judy (Scott) Tyson, Toni Rae (Tim) Zablocki, and Steve Blubaugh.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Ruby (Young) Norden; sisters Lorraine (Bill) Bunker, Shirley (Chuck) Peltier, and JoAnn (Robert) Blubaugh; life long friend Thomas Gibbs; niece Bonnie (John) McMahon; and nephew Cary Lee (Jan) Bunker.
