Florence E. Foltman

ESCANABA — Florence E. Foltman of Escanaba, 95, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the Bishop Noa Home after a brief illness.
Florence was born in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Martin and Aleksandra Pleszczynski. She grew up in Weyerhauser, Wisconsin and graduated in 1947. She earned a bachelor’s degree in 1951 in home economics from the University of Wisconsin – Stout. While there, she met her future husband, Dennis Foltman. She taught food and nutrition in Wisconsin Rapids for two years. She also taught home economics in Escanaba until 1954. She married Dennis in 1953, and they made their home in Escanaba, Michigan.
She was a proud member of St. Joseph’s and St. Patrick’s church, singing in the choir for years.
Preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband Dennis. She is survived by two children, Richard (Janet) Foltman of Canton, Mich., and Mary Ann (Mike) Sprague of Macedon, N.Y., four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
