Wyatt Jackson Smith

RAPID RIVER — Wyatt Jackson Smith, age 21, of Rapid River passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at home. He was born January 8, 2003 in Marquette, Mich. and was the son of Jack and Becki (Constantino) Smith. Wyatt graduated from Rapid River Schools in 2021 and was a member of the Rapid River Rockets Championship Football Team 2018 and played in the U.P. Football All-Star Game in 2021. After high school Wyatt worked at Bugle Contracting and currently with Northern Utility as an aerial lineman. He loved playing football, hunting, racing dirt bikes and antagonizing his brothers.

Wyatt had a witty sense of humor and loved to dish it out and could take it back equally as well. When he walked into a room, he had everyone’s attention with his great stories and big smile. Family and friends were extremely important to Wyatt. He knew how to live and he would make an adventure out of every situation. Wyatt had a huge heart and would help anyone at any time.

Wyatt is survived by parents, Becki and Jack Smith of Rapid River; brothers, Khody Smith, Damyn Smith, and Grady Smith of Rapid River; paternal grandfather, Jack Smith of Rapid River, Mich.; maternal grandfather, Stan Constantino, Rapid River; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandmothers Paula Smith and Sally Constantino.

Visitation will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, January 3, at Grace Church in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Wyatt Jackson Smith will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Grace Church with Pastor Jordan Pardee officiating. A meal will be serviced in the Grace Church fellowship hall. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family and a memorial fund will be established in Wyatt’s memory.
