Scott Charles Chapman

DALTON, Wis. — Scott Charles Chapman, 63, of Dalton, Wis. passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

Born on January 15, 1962, in Detroit, to Lowell “Chip” and Jean (nee Salonen) Chapman. Scott grew up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School, Class of 1980. Scott was known for his love of the outdoors and his hands-on skills, particularly in trucking and mechanics.

Scott was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding his RZR side-by-side. A lifelong superfan of the Detroit Lions, he was thrilled to attend the January 5th Lions-Vikings game at Ford Field with his sons, Ryan and Brent. He was also a dedicated sprint car racing enthusiast and a loyal follower of his favorite driver, Bill Balog.

Scott will be deeply missed by his family, including his beloved mother, Jean Chapman (Ralph Johnson) of Escanaba; his sister, Karen Chapman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and his sister, Kim (Dave) December of Omaha, Nebraska. His legacy lives on in his children: Brent Chapman of Waupun, Wisconsin, and his daughter Emma of Phoenix, Arizona; Ryan Chapman of Dalton, Wis.; Erika (David) Ritchie and their children, Aaron, Mia, and Nova of Appleton, Wis.; and Scotty (Michaela) Chapman and their son Myles of Neenah, Wis. He is also survived by his Uncle David and Aunt Laurice Maki of Sturtevant, Wis., along with numerous cousins, dear friends and his cat, Brady.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Lowell “Chip” Chapman; his daughter, Brooke; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30 at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Cambria from 4 to 7 p.m. A private burial will take place on Friday, January 31 at 1 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Kohler, Wis.

The Chapman family extends their deepest gratitude to the incredible teams at UW Health in Madison and Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Your dedication, exceptional care provided to Scott and our family during this difficult journey will forever be remembered.
