Russell J. Wendrick
ESCANABA — Russell J. Wendrick, 93, of Escanaba, passed away Saturday evening, January 18, 2025 at home surrounded by his family.
Russell was born on March 24, 1931, son of John Baptiste and Aldina (Denamur) Wendrick. He was raised in Daggett and attended Carney High School. He married the former Donna Anderson Gelina on August 26, 2005 in Escanaba.
As a welder, he spent most of his career with P & H Welding until his retirement in 1982.
Russell enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing Solitaire and spending time with his wife, Donna.
Among survivors are his loving wife, Donna; children, John (Jean) Wendrick, Gerald (Julie) Wendrick, Tammy (Toby) Kuivinen, and three additional sons; grandchildren, Jamie (DJ) Dabney, Shelby (Isaac Buhle) Wendrick, Amber (Heather) Thompson, Tori Wendrick, and ten additional grandchildren; great-grandchild, Adalyn Fitch-Dabney, along with several other great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his son, Russell Jr.; brothers, William, Hubert, Jules, Edwin, Victor, and Edward; and sisters, Alice, Anna, Lucy, and Marie.
Services will take place on Monday, February 3, at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S 13 St., Escanaba, from 2 until 4 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home immediately following the visitation with Rev. Ben Ramthun officiating.
Entombment will take place in Gardens of Rest Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2401 N. Lincoln Road, Escanaba, MI 49829.
