Paul M. Ericksen
ESCANABA — Paul M. Ericksen of Escanaba, 71, passed away on January 19, 2025, surrounded by loving family. Paul was born to Sigurd and Lois (Hansen) Ericksen on June 24, 1953, in Escanaba and was a lifelong resident of the area.
Paul graduated from Escanaba High School and worked as a skilled carpenter for many years. He loved going downhill skiing, bike riding, and hobby sailing. He enjoyed hunting and spending time in the great outdoors. He was an avid reader and master storyteller of his tales from when he hitchhiked across the country — with sound effects, of course.
Paul’s family would like to thank the staff at OSF Healthcare Daniel J. Kobasic Cancer Center and with UP Health System Home Care and Hospice.
Paul is survived by his wife, Linda Taylor; children Zach (Lindsay) Ericksen, Josh Ericksen, Jeff Ericksen, Lisa (Jesse) Taylor, and Bob Pike; grandchildren, Parker, Colin, Lucy, Aubree, Easton, and Aylah Ericksen, and Anders and Erik Anderson; brothers and sisters, Robert (Janene) Ericksen, Ann Fix, Gerald Ericksen, Darlene Harris, Linda (George) Martinson, and Sharon Bowen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law Doug Fix.
Those wishing to offer an expression of sympathy are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to the Friends of the Escanaba Public Library, 400 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.
A Celebration of Life will take place on the beach in the summer of 2025.
