CARNEY — Gerry L. Pirlot, 82, of Carney, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wis..

Gerry was born on July 20, 1942 in Detroit, son of Mathew and Mae (Vincent) Pirlot. He attended Bark River High School and graduated in 1961.

After high school, Gerry worked for Harnischfeger and was known by many as “Hawk.” He then transferred into the construction business.

He loved sports, hunting, and his family. In his younger years, his spare time was spent coaching women’s softball, Little League, and men’s fast pitch. He became a member of Sons of The American Legion where he took pride in supporting their efforts whether it was parking cars at the Off-Road Races or helping set up and line up parades in Carney.

He worked his entire life, right up until he was 78. He became known to many as “Hubba.” Those who knew him will miss him and his ability to bring out the positive in people with his famous saying, “Hubba Hubba!”

Among survivors are his children, Rhonda (Bill) Dawson of Mt. Dora, Fla. and Tony (Debbie Stone) Pirlot of Escanaba, Mich.; sister, Darlene (Glen) Olson; sister-in-law, Lee (Ducleaux) Pirlot; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Gerry was preceded in death by his siblings, Lloyd Pirlot, Laura Gray and Jeanette Beauchamp.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. Eastern Time at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. Darryl Pepin officiating.
