Dennis L ‘Butch’ Aicher
GLADSTONE — Not known for his sense of urgency or his lighting fast speed, Dennis L “Butch” Aicher, approached his death in much the same way; He was going to get there when he was good and ready. Perhaps he was simply enjoying the final weeks being doted on by wife of 63 years, Marilyn (Young) and daughter Kathi (Paul) Bosilovatz.
Apparently he felt that January 15, 2025 was the time.
A lifelong resident of Gladstone and a proud Yooper, Dennis graduated from Gladstone High School in 1959 and married Marilyn in March, 1962. He served in the US Air Force as an electronics technician and was stationed at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base. After his service they returned to life in Gladstone, raising Mike, Kathi, Terry, and Chris (Lynda) while Dennis worked for the City of Gladstone as a lineman then a wastewater treatment plant operator before taking a similar position with the federal government back at K.I. Sawyer until retirement. Butch was often crossing off things from the Honey Do list or enjoying a concert in the park.
Dennis will once again see his parents Clarence and Mae as well as this siblings who have gone before him. He was preceded in death by Son Michael. He leaves behind grandchildren Sara (Mike) Finnigan of DeKalb, Ill., Steven (Camille) Bosilovatz of Prairie Village, Kansas, Nicholas (Miyu) Aicher of Chicago, Samuel Aicher of Nagano, Japan, Anna Aicher of Elgin, Ill., Emily Aicher of LaFayette, IN, Noah and Sydney of Tigard OR.
There will be a celebration of his life at The Deli Restaurant in Gladstone on Sunday, January 26th from 1-3 p.m The Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone is assisting the family. To leave the family a message of condolence, go to http://www.skradskifuneralhomes.com.
