Barbara ‘Barb’ A. Charlier
POWERS — Barbara “Barb” A. Charlier, 92, of Powers, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility. She was born on November 2, 1932 in Kingsford, daughter of the late Louis and Sophie (Strokos) Roshyk. On September 8, 1951 she married the late Lawrence “Larry” Charlier at St. Edward’s Parish in Racine, Wis.
Barb enjoyed gardening and just being in the outdoors in general, and she also enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her family and going out dancing with her husband.
Barb is survived by five children, Duane (Kitty Topper) Charlier, Marc Charlier, Willard (Amy Gudwer) Charlier, Larry “Prair” (Barb Englund) Charlier and Keith Charlier; brother-in-law, Gary Charlier; son-in-law, Tom Harris, many grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter: Connie Laurine Harris, a brother: John Strokos, a daughter-in-law: Cindy Charlier. Barb was also preceded in death by three grandchildren.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. CST on Thursday, January 30 at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday at church with Fr. Benny Mathew officiating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church parish hall. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Spalding Township Cemetery in the spring.
