Warren L. ‘Roy’ Harris
GLADSTONE — Warren L. “Roy” Harris, 88, of Gladstone, passed away early Friday morning, November 29, 2024 at his home.
He was born on November 17, 1936 in Manistique, son of Warren and Florence (Snyder) Harris. Roy was raised in Germfask and graduated from Manistique Area School in 1955.
Roy married Julie Ann Bonel on January 15, 1993 in Ironwood, Mich. They were blessed with 31 years of marriage.
He was employed as a welder with Lakehead Pipeline and then Enbridge, retiring as a foreman in 1995.
Roy was previously married to Bonnie Provo for several years and had two daughters.
In Roy’s younger years, he enjoyed playing baseball on several teams in Manistique. He had a passion of restoring old car which included his 1940 Chevy. Roy was an avid snowmobiler and loved hunting, fishing and spending time at camp. He was fortunate that he was able to spend this hunting season and his birthday with lifelong friends at their camp, which he has done for many years.
Among survivors are his wife, Julie Harris of Gladstone; two daughters, Kelli (John) Anderson of Manistique and Khris (Jeff) Beck of Perrsyberg, Ohio; stepchildren, Michelle (Joe) Wahmhoff and Douglas Michael Stebbins; several step-grandchildren including, Avery, Alex, and Addison; brother, Randy (Connie) Harris; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Wanda Harris, Sally Wappes, and Yvonne Magansum.
Graveside service will take place in the spring in Germfask Cemetery with a luncheon to follow. A message of condolence may be directed to the family by visiting www.crawfordfuneralhomes.net.
