Lois J. Ravet

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Lois J. Ravet, 91, passed away Wednesday, November 27, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Escanaba, Mich., to Bennett and Yvonne (Potvin) McCauley. She graduated in the class of 1951 at Escanaba High School. She married the love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” J Ravet, on June

26, 1954, in Escanaba, Mich. sharing 69 years and seven children.

Lois worked for Michigan Bell Telephone Company while Jerry was in college in Lansing, Mich. After graduation they moved to Milwaukee and later to Green Bay, Wis. There she was a member the Green Bay Elks Lodge #259, a Greeter at Nativity Parish, a volunteer for the Red Cross, a member of the Red Hats and the Lois Club. Her favorite pastimes were camping, being with family and friends, Polka dancing with Jerry, making crafts and painting, bowling, and volleyball. Also being the family photographer: she made copies for all her family and friends with names and dates on them. And she never forgot to send cards and gifts for every occasion. She planned and enjoyed the many St. Patrick’s Day parties!

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her parents, her sisters: Flossie (Bill), Rita (Kayo), Mary (Bud), and infant granddaughter (Kirsten), and infant great-grandson (Josiah). Also, by her in-laws: Joseph and Viola Ravet and sister-in-law: Joyce (Jack).

Survivors include: two sons, Michael (Diane), Green Bay, Scott, Escanaba: five daughters, Vicky, Green Bay, Lori (Michael), Green Bay, Teri (Dave), Denmark, Kelly (Brian), Oneida, and Connie (Bill), Green Bay:

20 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren (33); along with many nieces and nephews.

We couldn’t have asked for a better mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend and neighbor. We will miss her every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 6, at 12 p.m. at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 2270 S. Oneida St, Green Bay with Father Matt Simonar officiating. Visitation will occur from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. Condolences may be left for the family by visiting www.lyndahl.com The family would like to thank Unity Hospice staff for their kindness and understanding.
