James G. ‘Jim’ Robitaille

ESCANABA — James G. “Jim” Robitaille, 63, of Escanaba, passed away on Tuesday evening, December 17, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Green Bay surrounded by family and close friends.

He was born on June 10, 1961 in Escanaba, son of Gerald E. and Beverly A. (Benoit) Robitaille. Jim attended Holy Name Grade School and then Escanaba High School.

At the age of 16, Jim started working at Lakeside Machine where he was employed for over 20 years. Realizing his real passion was working on cars, he started his own business, Jim’s Auto Repair.

Jim enjoyed being around people and socializing. He loved boating, camping, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. In his younger years, he loved riding his dirt bike. His adventures then continued with his Harley Davidson, but recently enjoyed his golf cart.

He is survived by his children, Jason Robitaille of Ford River, Nathan Robitaille (fiancee, Ashley Frappier) of Escanaba, and Nicole Bower (Curt Czerwinski) of Escanaba; fiancee, Dawn Lynch of Escanaba; and grandchildren, Hannah, Hunter, Alvah, Levi, Chase, Carter, Savanna, Riley, and Skylar. He will also be deeply missed by his siblings, Connie (John) Stoykovich, Brian Robitaille (Cherie Gagnon), Julie Johnston (Garry King), Karen (Bob) Parker, and Sherri (Gregg) DeVere; numerous nieces and nephews; lifelong friends, Rick LaMarch and Kevin Plouff; and his furry side kick, Abby.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Mark Allen Robitaille; and brother-in-law, David “Gut” Johnston.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 23rd from noon to 3 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Rick Courier officiating. A gathering will follow at the Elks Lodge 354.
