Judy DeShambo Young

She is survived by two sons, Steve (Sheri Curtice-Young) and Mike (Elizabeth Marzluf), a sister, Peg (Jon Bergerson), sister-in-law Sandy DeShambo, and two grandsons, Corey and Wyatt Young, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Richard (Dick) Young, her parents, two brothers, and sons Chris and Corey.

Judy’s love of reading continued until the very end, consuming books at an impressive rate. A favorite of hers was to watch RFD, enjoying her favorite country stars perform. Spring brought the baseball package which was a must since she was a fan of the Braves, Tigers and Cubs. Fall brought much excitement as she cheered on the Packers, and of course, once winter arrived and the snow started flying, there were always three separate schedules laying on her end table for college basketball as she cheered on the Spartans, Wolverines and Badgers.

A very special thank you to the entire staff at Cedar Hill Assisted Living & Senior Housing. Judy raved about the quality of care and kindness she received, treating her more like family than a patient.

A private mass will be held at a later date for family. Any gifts will be donated to Judy’s favorite local charities.
