Janice Louise Beito

GLADSTONE — Janice Louise Beito, 76, formerly a Gladstone resident, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 27, 2024, in the presence of her children, in Elk Grove Village, Ill.

Janice was born on July 7, 1948 in Escanaba, Michigan and was the daughter of Allen and Helen (Larson) Erickson. She grew up in the Buckeye on 7th Street in Gladstone. Janice was a graduate of the Gladstone High School where she proudly was in the band and the “Purple Gang”. She attended Ferris State University where she achieved an associate’s degree in dental assisting. Janice married Philip Newman Beito in 1971. Together, they had four children, Michele Anne, Valerie Suzanne, Matthew Allen, and Michael Allen. Janice raised her children in Ishpeming, Michigan where she was very active in the community. She retired from Pathways in 2003.

Janice is survived by her brother, Curtis Erickson of Wetmore, Mich., sisters Carol Strom of Gladstone, and Paula LaCrosse of Gladstone; children Michele Anne Beito of Lake Stevens, Wash., Valerie Suzanne Swiatkowski of Inverness, Ill., Matthew Allen Beito of Lake Stevens, Wash., and Michael Allen Beito of Ishpeming; two grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents Allen and Helen Erickson.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, November 30, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Janice Beito will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Anderson Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Sturdy officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral services in the Bay de Noc Room located at the Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
