Sharon L. Schafer

Sharon was born to Walter and Bertha Ollila. She was raised with five siblings on a small dairy farm seven miles Southeast of Newell, South Dakota.

She married the love of her life, Ronald Schafer on June 17, 1967 and they spent 43 wonderful years together.

Sharon’s home and yard reflected her ability to create beauty in everything she touched. But her life was dedicated to taking care of her family. Spending time with them was the highlight of her life. She will truly be missed.

Sharon is survived by her children, Sherry Schafer-Findley, Deborah Schaub, Tim Schafer; daughter-in-law, Marjorie Schafer; stepdaughters, Terry Parks, Patricia Hankins, Gail Koehlier, and Susie Palomo; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Schafer, parents, Walter and Bertha Ollila, son, Ronald “Joe” Schafer and brother, Rudy Ollila.

Family and friends are invited to stop by the Escanaba Yacht Club from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 14 to share memories and visit with her family.
