Karen Anne (Gurlea) Zoppetti

MT PLEASANT Mich. — Karen Anne (Gurlea) Zoppetti, age 43 of Mt Pleasant Mich., born March 3, 1980 in Appleton, Wis., formerly of Escanaba Mich., passed away unexpectedly on September 26, 2023. She is survived by her husband, Aaron Zoppetti; children, Jarrod (Lindsey) Zimmer, Nathan Ansell, Elijiah Ansell and Isaac Ansell; grandchildren, Tobias and Dorothea. She is further survived by her parents, Timothy (Mary) Gurlea and Betty (John) Muehlhaus; one brother and four sisters, Bryan Gurlea, Pam Jenkins, Katie Gurlea, Corey Muehlhaus and Isabelle Gurlea; Grandmother Gloria and many dear nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Angel Marie and grandparents Victor Gurleg, Richard and Ruth Parker, Johannes and Elizabeth Muehlhaus.

Karen was an active member of her community, serving as treasurer on board of the Isabella County Habitat for Humanity treasurer for the last few years active since June of 2020. She was also a member of the Central Michigan Association of Realtors, Clare Gladwin Board of Realtors, Water Wonderland Board of Realtors, Midland Board of Realtors, Isabella, Clare and Gratiot County Home Builders Association and Mt Pleasant Chamber of Commerce and Clare Area Chamber of Commerce.

She recently celebrated 17 years at Green Stone Farm Credit Services starting as a CSR in Escanaba, transferring to Mt Pleasant and worked her way up to vice president of Country Living Lending.

She enjoyed spending time with her family at their cottage in Harrison and riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Karen’s biggest joy in her life was time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Her wicked sense of humor kept people laughing and on their toes. She made friends wherever she went, touching so many hearts along the way.

Aaron said it best when he indicated that he lost his best friend and soulmate and love of his life and that he and Karen were making their dreams and plans come true with their family.

Funeral will be October 14 at New Life Assembly of God, 2005 8th Avenue S., Escanaba, MI. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with service immediately following.
