Jill Frances (Kahl) Sheedlo

She was born in Manitowac, Wis. on January 6, 1927 daughter of John and Frances (Komar) Kahl. Jill graduated from Escanaba Area High School in 1945. After graduation, Jill was employed by the Bell Telephone Company in Ann Arbor, MI prior to returning to Escanaba.

Jill Frances Kahl and Harold Alden Sheedlo were married in July of 1946 in Escanaba, Mich. Her husband of over 70 years passed away in July 2016 at the age of 92. Harold A. Sheedlo served in the Army Air Corps from 1942-1945 in the Pacific during World War II.

Jill was a self-taught pianist and also played her electronic organ much to the delight of her next-door neighbors. In addition, Jill was an excellent cook and enjoyed working in her garden and maintaining her flower and plant collection in her house.

Jill was a loving and caring mother. She is survived by six children, Harold J. Sheedlo, PhD., Rapid River, Mich.; Robin A. Sheedlo, Sheyboygan Falls, Wis.; Darryl B. Sheedlo, Escondido, Calif.; Terry L. Sheedlo, Rapid River, Mich.; Sue L. (Sheedlo) Dubord, Cornell, Mich.; and Steven T. Sheedlo, MD, Morristown, Tenn.

In 2009, her son Gary A. Sheedlo preceded her in death. Her sons Harold served in Viet Nam, Darryl and Steven were officers in the Navy, and Terry served in the Marines.

Jill F. and Harold A. Sheedlo have 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

The Sheedlo family would like to thank the nurses and staff at UP Health System Marquette, Bishop Noa Home of Escanaba, the OSF hospital and Transition Assisted Living of Gladstone.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in Lakeview Cemetery.
