Randy Scott Boggs Sr.

GLADSTONE — Randy Scott Boggs Sr., of Gladstone, Mich. passed away at the age of 57, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Appleton, Wis. on November 1, 2022. He was the fifth child born on October 16, 1965 to Clifford Edward Boggs Jr and Anna May Strawderman in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
Randy’s childhood was spent in Sault Ste Marie until moving to the Escanaba area, where he spent most of his life. Randy worked in many trades, including roofing, landscaping, laying cable, and logging. He loved watching the Green Bay Packers, NASCAR, classic TV shows, and Chicago PD, enjoyed fishing, campfires with family, and listening to classic rock. He loved to sing to others and dance (he has a known “Uncle Randy Dance”). He loved animals and loved to walk his dog, Oscar. Due to health and a work-related injury, he lived the last couple of years with and was taken care of by his niece Phyllis and brother Arnie.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Boggs and Raymond Boggs, his grandparents, two nieces and a nephew, several aunts and uncles, ex-wife Sharon Hixonbaugh, and best canine companion Oscar “Osky”.
He is survived by his parents, daughter, Heather (Josh) Helman of Gladstone; sons, Randy Boggs Jr of Oshkosh and Dylan McMillan of Escanaba; three grandchildren, Nickilous, Emmalee and Blaize; brother, Arnold “Arnie” Boggs of Gladstone; sisters, Debbie (John) Flath of Bark River, Charlotte (Jeff) Anderson of Gladstone, April (Mark) Lippold of Green Bay, and Alisa (Eric) King of Gladstone; several nieces and nephews, ex-wife Brenda Buckland of Oshkosh, and his last love, Kim Murray of Escanaba.
He was Uncle Randy to many who all cherished his singing, dancing, and playfulness. In his last years of life, his dreams were to be the best father to his children and to cherish his time with his beautiful grandchildren.
The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on November 12 at Grace Church in Gladstone, Mich.. with a luncheon to follow.
