Mary Elizabeth Willis

GLADSTONE, Mich. — Mary Elizabeth Willis, age 73, of Gladstone, was called peacefully home to our Lord and Savior as she was surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 27, 2022.

Mary was born on October 9, 1948 in Menominee, Michigan the daughter of Clifford and Dorothy (Gokey) Demars. She was united in marriage to Richard Willis on January 15, 1966 in Menominee, Michigan. In earlier years, Mary raised her two children and helped her husband with office work at Willis Salvage. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Mary loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, putting together puzzles, visiting with her close friends and helping others. Mary was such a sweet, genuine, loving and caring woman. Her beautiful smile was absolutely contagious. She will be missed by so many that love her. Mary was a longtime member of All Saints Catholic Church.

In addition to her loving husband, Mary is survived by: daughter, Susan (Joseph) Lawrick of Olive Branch, MS; son, Keith (Christa) Willis of Noblesville, Ind.; three brothers, Al (Geraldine) Demers of Appleton, Wis., Clifford Demars of Menominee, Mich., Jerry DeMars of Menominee, Mich.; three sisters, Doris (Tony) Fugarino of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., Sharon Demarce of Menominee, Mich., and Evelyn (Dean) Nelson of Menominee, Mich.; five grandchildren, Chelsey (Brazel Crocker) Lawrick, Luke, Claire, Olivia, Jude Willis, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by: son, Richard Lee, and and sister, Dorothy Van.

Family will receive friends on Friday, March 4, from 3 until 5 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. A luncheon will follow in the parish hall. Mary will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Willis family.
