Ralph Fred Krause Sr.

BARK RIVER, Mich. — Ralph Fred Krause Sr., age 93, passed away Friday morning, August 6, 2021, at his home in Hyde surrounded by his loving family.

Ralph was born February 28, 1928, in Ford River, the son of Fred and Emma (Porath) Krause Sr. He was raised in Ford River and attended the Ford River Schools. On June 25, 1949, Ralph was united in marriage to the former Theresa Rudden and together the couple made their home, raised their family and spent 72 wonderful years together in Hyde. Ralph was employed as a piece cutter for Sawyer and Stoll for over 50 years. Following retirement, Ralph enjoyed woodworking and was proud to have a variety of his woodworking projects sell throughout the United States, especially his custom log cabin bird feeders. Ralph built his camp in Ford River where many family gatherings and fun times were had by all.

In addition to his loving wife Theresa, Ralph is survived by: sons, Ralph (Dawn) Krause Jr., Donald (Betty) Krause, Robert (Lori) Krause; daughters, Jeanne Woodbury, Karen (Keith) Lippens, Lori Krause; sister, Marion Trepanier; sister-in-law, Grace Krause; grandchildren, Ralph III, Patti, Connie, Ken (Kathy), Don Jr. (Carie), Denise (Kevin), DJ (Jamie), Kyle (Kayla), Kasey (Jesse)

Tyler, Dylan, Andy, Ryan and Rachael.

Also listed among the surviving family members are 11 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Emma; sisters, Mildred Scheeneman, Martha Sundstrom and Mable Brousseau; brothers, Fred Krause Jr., Ernest Krause, Albert Krause and Louis Krause; granddaughter, Kristie Krause; son-in-law, Bill Woodbury.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services will follow on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hyde, with Pastor Ronald Zindler officiating. Ralph will be laid to rest in the West Ford River Cemetery following funeral services. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting with arrangements.
