Roger A. King
GLADSTONE, Mich. — Roger A. King, 63, of Gladstone, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at St. Francis hospital in Escanaba.
Roger was born Oct. 27, 1954, in Escanaba, the son of Francis “Curly” and Rosalie (Derusha) King. He was a Gladstone High School graduate who joined the United States Army following graduation. Throughout his life he held various jobs. From truck driving, to working at Harnischfeger, catering, and owning his own construction company.
Roger was a member of the Gladstone American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and had a special place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his life partner, Lori Marmalick of Gladstone, he is survived by: one “son”, Paul (Laura) Marmalick of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; one “daughter”, Jenn (Adam) Peterson of Robbinsdale, Minn.; two brothers, Garry King of Marinette, Wis., and Daniel (Terri) King of Gladstone, Mich.; three sisters, Debra (Mark) Winker of Escanaba, Mich., Cindy (Tom) Taylor of Gladstone, Mich., and Connie (Tony) Mayville of Escanaba, Mich.; “grandson”, Wyatt Peterson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Roger was preceded in death by: parents, Francis “Curly” and Rosalie King, and one brother, Wayne “Butch” King.
Family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 18, from 4 until 6 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Military honors will be presented to Roger at 6 p.m. by the Gladstone American Legion August Mattson Post 71. Inurnment will take place at Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells, Mich.
