Jury hung in Cronick shooting case, mistrail declared

ESCANABA — Shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday, the jury weighing the case of Jacob Cronick, of Bark River, who allegedly shot his ex-father-in-law, Eric Parrotta, in the stomach during an altercation in Escanaba Township in 2024, told the court it was deadlocked. The trial has been declared a mistrial by Delta County Circuit Court Judge John Economopoulos.

Cronick was charged with one count of felony firearm and one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation.
