Two rescued on thin ice of shore of Ford River

FORD RIVER — Two men who fell through the ice were rescued by first responders Saturday. On Saturday, February 15. At 6:46 a.m. deputies from the Delta County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched for two people that had gone through the ice near the Ford River.

Numerous ice rescue personnel responded along with the sheriff’s office airboat. Rescuers located the subjects standing on thin ice approximately 2 miles south of the mouth of the Ford River. They had gotten themselves out of the water and were stranded on the thin ice. Ice rescuers were able to get the subjects safely into the Airboat and transported back to shore. No injuries were reported. The sheriff’s office was assisted by Delta County Central Dispatch, Delta County Search and Rescue, Masonville Fire & EMS, Ensign Fire, and Rampart EMS.
