Three safe after pickup falls through ice
KIPLING — Three people are safe after their pickup went through the ice shortly before 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
The two adults and one juvenile were safely on the ice when rescuers came to their aid about a quarter mile from shore off of Kipling and about 20 yards from where the vehicle went into the water. No injuries were reported and rescuers were able to reach the individuals by walking over the ice.
Multiple other vehicles were nearby on the ice at the time of the incident. It is believed the truck had hit a weak point in the ice, which caused it to fall through.
Assisting Delta County Search and Rescue were the Michigan State Police drone unit, Rampart EMS, and the Masonville and Ensign fire departments.
