Delta County Cancer Alliance Luminary Event is Saturday
ESCANABA — The Annual Community Cancer Alliance Luminary Event will be held Saturday, February 8, at 2 p.m. at Blessed Hope Baptist Church, 2530 1st Avenue South This event supports the community coming together to support cancer survivors and loved ones lost to cancer.
This is a family event. The doors will be open at 1 p.m. There will be tables filled with art supplies and luminary bags that can be purchased for $5 each to individually decorate
“In Memory of and in Honor of” loved ones that we have lost to cancer or who may be enduring the challenges of cancer.
At 2 p.m. the the luminary bags will be beautifully displayed followed by a ceremony of “Memory and Honor”.
Light snacks and beverages will be provided.
According to Gayle DeShambo, Cancer Alliance president, she is hopeful the community will take advantage of this event to support all of us who have been impacted by the challenges of cancer. All proceeds will remain in Delta County to help our friends and family with cancer related expenses.
If you would like to decorate bags but cannot be at the event they will be available at the DCCA office, 3430 Ludington Street. Payment will be accepted when completed to be displayed either at the office or the day of the event.
