Bay College/LSSU BPA hosts annual “Chain of Love” Fundraiser
ESCANABA, — The Bay College and LSSU Regional Center chapter of Business Professionals of America (BPA) announces its annual “Chain of Love” fundraiser to support the Local Area 1 Special Olympics. The fundraiser will take place from February 24 – 27, with Bay College student volunteers accepting donations in the main entrance of the HUB on the Escanaba campus from 10 a.m. – 3 each day.
The “Chain of Love” fundraiser builds a symbolic chain, with each dollar donated adding a link. Donors are invited to write the name of a loved one on their link, creating a visual representation of community support.
“I have seen firsthand just how important the Special Olympics are to these athletes and am grateful for the opportunity to help raise funds so they can continue to have these experiences,” said Griffin Johnson, BPA President, event Co-Champion, and Business Management and Administration student at Lake Superior State University.
All proceeds directly support the Local Area 1 Special Olympics program, covering essential costs such as uniforms, equipment, and travel for athletes. The program operates without federal funding, relying entirely on community support to ensure that no athlete has to pay to participate.
“I want to thank everyone involved, and I look forward to another successful year,” Johnson added.
