State police make three drug arrests
DELTA COUNTY – Three individuals were arraigned in Delta County on felony drug charges following three separate investigations conducted by the Michigan State Police (MSP) Gladstone Post.
MSP announced the three arrests in a press release sent out on Thursday morning.
On Jan. 3, around 2 a.m., MSP troopers from the Gladstone Post conducted a traffic stop for multiple violations on Stephenson Avenue near 6th Avenue North in Escanaba. Troopers identified the driver as Jennifer Verbrigghe, 44, of Escanaba. Further investigation resulted in troopers finding suspected methamphetamine. She was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and placed in the Delta County Jail. A $500 bond was set and she is expected back in court on Jan. 23.
On Jan. 4, around 2:26 a.m., MSP troopers from the Gladstone Post checked on a woman who was walking in the cold weather along US-2 Highway near K.5 Road in Wells. The troopers observed the woman and found her to be intoxicated. A subsequent investigation found that the woman was in possession of suspected cocaine. The woman was identified as Kristyn Hansen, 42, of Chesapeake, Va. She was arrested for possession of cocaine and logged in the Delta County Jail. A $750 bond was set and she is expected back in court on Jan. 23.
On Jan. 5, around 1:40 a.m., troopers conducted a traffic stop on South 5th Street near 2nd Avenue South in Escanaba for a traffic violation. Further investigation resulted in the troopers locating suspected methamphetamine. Trooper arrested the passenger in the vehicle, David Wench, 37, of Powers for possession of methamphetamine and placed him in the Delta County Jail.
Bond was set at $1,000 and he is expected back in court on Jan. 23.
