Escanaba Public Safety officers responded to a house fire in the 1400 block of North 22nd Street shortly before 11:40 a.m. on Monday morning. The fire was reported to have started in the furnace in the basement, but responders were able to contain it quickly. Responders cleared the scene by 12:30 p.m. No injuries were reported. Escanaba Public Safety, Escanaba City Electric and Rampart responded to the scene.
