Escanaba’s K-9 officers sworn in
ESCANABA — Two new officers for Escanaba Public Safety were sworn in by Mayor Mark Ammel on Thursday. Instead of making remarks, the two new officers smiled and wagged their tails as they were sworn in to duty. K9’s Cigo and Enzo were officially sworn in on Thursday, along with their owners Public Safety Sergeant Austin Young and Public Safety Officer Aaron Young, at the Escanaba City Council meeting. Austin and Aaron both signed for Enzo and Cigo as holding a pen was not ideal for the new officers.
Enzo was also given a two certificates from President of D&D Dog Dynamic, Sammi Grzybowski.
After Ammel swore Enzo and Cigo in to duty, the full city council chambers erupted in applause for the new officers.
