Escanaba’s Community Thanksgiving Dinner in need of volunteers
ESCANABA — The 2024 Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held at the Escanaba High School on Thanksgiving Day, November 28. The goal of the event is to offer a place where no one will feel alone on Thanksgiving.
A traditional Thanksgiving meal including turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberries, and desserts will be served free of charge from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Free DATA bus rides are available for those needing transportation and can be booked by calling the Escanaba Senior Center at 906-786-8850. To-go meals will also be available for pick up from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Reservations for to-go meals are highly encouraged and can be made by calling the Escanaba Senior Center at 906-786-8850.
It is anticipated that the 2024 Community Thanksgiving Dinner will provide over 700 meals this year. As such, we are seeking individuals, families, and community/civic groups who are interested in volunteering for this event. Help is needed on Wednesday, November 27 and on Thursday, November 28 (Thanksgiving Day). Those wishing to volunteer are asked to contact Shannon Hereau at 906-420-0525 or visit our website at www.communitythanksgivingdinner.org.
