Candy cane food drive is returning to Gladstone
GLADSTONE — Gladstone Public Safety, Gladstone Volunteer Fire Department, and the Escanaba Township Volunteer Fire Department will once again be conducting their annual Christmas Candy Cane/Canned Food Drive on Dec. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Firefighters, along with their families, friends, and other volunteers will be going throughout the community handing out candy canes and collecting food items for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. Trucks will be decorated and Christmas music will play as volunteers walk the community.
Residents are asked to have their porch or exterior lights on so that volunteers know they are home and so they can provide a candy cane and some holiday cheer.
Residents that wish to donare but are not comfortable with outside person-to-person contact can leave their donation on the porch or near the front of their residence.
