ESCANABA — The Escanaba Public Works Department plans to begin leaf collection on Monday, October 14, weather permitting. They will make every effort to collect leaves from addresses on their regular garbage collection day. However, it’s not possible to provide an exact time or day for leaf collection. To ensure timely pickup, it is recommended that leaves be placed at the curb the day before your garbage collection.

Only leaves will be collected — sticks and other yard debris will not. Leaves should be raked to the curb, and it’s important to keep the area clear to give the collection crew access. Avoid parking vehicles near the piles to allow easy access. Note that leaves will not be collected with regular garbage and will not be picked up in the spring.

The leaf collection service is weather-dependent and will run approximately from October 14 to November 15.
